Artists on the Rise: November

This month proved to be historic for the underground community. Dozens of new artists broke onto the scene, with unmatched uniqueness and creativity being shown. This following list is my personal choice for the best upcoming artists for the month of November.

All of the artists on the list bring their own sound to the table, with a strong sense of self-identity, creativity, and talent that is missing from the larger rap community.

XiiiDolor

XiiiDolor is one of my favorites on this list. His versatile approach to the game is comparable to few, with the ability to switch between rap, indie, and alternative styles with ease.

I asked him what his goals are for the rest of the year, and he replied “to just keep improving on my sound and continue to inspire as many people as i can, change lives in a way.”

Jwasabi

Jwasabi is one of those guys who you just know will have a lasting impact on the hip-hop community. His bright melodies and ear-catching beats are infectious, getting stuck in your head after the first listen. He’s been on a tear recently, dropping consistently and proving his staying ability with his recent project “Enchiridion.”

Coming out of Wilmington, Delaware, Jwasabi hopes to go all in with music in 2025 to prove that he will become one of the biggest artists of our generation, and put on for his hometown.

DMXN

Dmxn is a one of a kind artist who deserves more attention. His soundscapes and vocal ambience create a distinct world for his listeners that remind me of some of the greatest rappers of our generation.

Dmxn says that his music is “ambient yet driving, for the ones who don’t have it all together yet.”

D6ANDZ

D6ANDZ, from Stockton, California, has gotten co-signed from almost every artist in the industry. Some of his co-signs include Bryson Tiller, Snot, and Wifisfuneral to name a few. His outspoken style and charisma is palpable, so any amount of writing I do pails in comparison to the words of D6ANDZ himself:

“What makes me different is that I take music and turn it into an experience to be remembered, with meaningful lyrics and hard hitting melodies, been on grind for a while now and many people may be familiar with D6andz, incorporating vulnerability into my music which establishes a connection with listeners. My goals for my music is to help as many people as possible, to inspire others to chase their dreams & to inspire”

FalseCris

Hailing from Miami, FL, FalseCris is legitimately putting the Miami underground on his back. From the many shows he’s helped throw and been a part of, his energy can be felt but never emulated. His dedication to revitalizing Miami’s underground rap scene reminds me of the 2017 Miami movement spearheaded by the likes of XXXTENTACION, Ski Mask, Denzel Curry, and more.

I am a big supporter of artists who want to lift up others from their community, so it’s apparent that FalseCris is not only a great artist, but a great person as well.

Xando

In my personal opinion Xando has the most potential on this list. Not to discredit any of the other talented artists on the list, it’s just that Xando has the unique ability to hop on almost any style of beat and make it his own. His range and versatility are impressive to say the least, with a wide array of sounds and melodies that can hook almost any listener.

Coming out of Houston, TX, Xando explains his music best: “I’m a very melodic artist, with the skillset to adjust to any sound, but I really enjoy the slower old school sample R&B type of the vibe the most.”

Babekhris

At just 16 years old, Babekhris is the youngest artist on this list—but don’t let his age fool you. Coming out of Newport News, VA, Babekhris is coming with a sound that places him in conversations with some of the veterans of the game. His polished and clear sound demonstrate capabilities beyond those of a normal kid his age, showing the tremendous upside he has as an artist.

I have a lot in faith in Babekhris as an artist, and for good reason. After getting co-signed by Destroy Lonely among other underground rappers, it is clear to see that Babekhris has that something special.

TPG Stax

Last but not least, we have TPG Stax. Don’t get it twisted, placing him last on the list does not mean he has the least potential on this list—as that couldn’t be more far off the mark. Stax easily has some of the best flows and cadences I’ve heard from any upcoming rapper. His range from song to song is wildly impressive, with the ability to move crowds and create real shockwaves in the underground.

I’m eager to see just how far TPG Stax can go, because I am definitely going to be following along for his journey.
