The Zaykyro Interview

Zaykyro Unleashes "ICE QUEEN" – A Bold Anthem of Heartbreak and Healing

Chicago-born artist Zaykyro is kicking off 2025 with a new single, "ICE QUEEN", released on March 21st under Nuovo Entertainment. A raw and unapologetic breakup anthem, the track channels the pain and anger of a toxic relationship into a slick, synth-heavy sound reminiscent of The Weeknd’s signature style.

The release of "ICE QUEEN" was preceded by a striking music video featuring Stella Andrews, a rising model from Chicago’s THE ROCK talent agency. Shot by GASROOTSHIPHOP, a creative collective founded by Zaykyro and fellow Chicago artist PostGod, the visuals amplify the song’s cold, cinematic energy.

"ICE QUEEN" is about hating your way to healing, Zaykyro explains. "I wrote it last year after getting out of an abusive relationship. Every bar in this song is a fat middle finger to my ex. But more than that, it’s something people can relate to—everyone’s been through relationship drama, and it’s powerful to know others have felt the same."

Zaykyro's journey in music has been anything but conventional. Born and raised in Chicago, he started as a child performer, singing Christmas carols on national television. As a teen in LA, he transitioned into ghostwriting before launching his solo career in 2020. His versatility as an artist is undeniable, seamlessly blending elements of rap, EDM, pop, and indie alternative into his sound.

Citing influences like Justin Bieber, DC the Don, The Weeknd, and The Marías, Zaykyro continues to push boundaries with his music. "ICE QUEEN" is just the beginning of what promises to be an explosive year for the rising star.
