Blackhoodievillain: From Costa Mesa to the Underground Spotlight
Blackhoodievillain, a native of Costa Mesa, California, is making a name for himself in the underground music industry with a remarkable combination of talent, tenacity, and unadulterated willpower. Even though he was raised on rock and pop, his passion was ignited when he heard rap for the first time, specifically B.o.B.'s Airplanes. Blackhoodievillain began creating songs at the age of nine and recording by the age of twelve, influenced by industry titans such as Lil Wayne, Eminem, and 2Pac.
Although he had strong passions for skating and music, his love of music finally prevailed. He was inspired to continue his career by his family's musical heritage, which included an uncle and stepdad who were both well-known for their work (one was even on the soundtrack of Tony Hawk Underground 2). Before the pandemic slowed things down, he joined Mesa's Finest, started creating mixed and mastered recordings by 2019, and even performed at the sold-out Santa Ana Observatory.
After 2022, there were difficulties, financial difficulties, and uncertainties due to the pause. But a slew of cues, including praise from complete strangers and encouraging friends, drew him back to music. After experiencing a personal setback that rekindled his motivation, Blackhoodievillain committed to being consistent, putting out new songs every two weeks and achieving his first 10,000 SoundCloud plays.
Now, Blackhoodievillain is creating a community under the motto “It's OK to Shine” thanks to an expanding fan base and an unwavering work ethic. He is committed to making his aspirations of performing on festival stages and having his songs top the charts a reality.
